Google Suggest Manipulating Searches

Google Suggest results are hurting my business. When typing in my domain (which people do for whatever reason in a search engine) it shows "MyDomain.com" as the 1st result but shows my domain with negative words about my domain as the 2nd and final suggestion "MyDomain.com sucks". Im needing to alter the Google suggestions. I saw a competitor of mine had this "sucks" term listed on their site at one point but am not sure if thats the reason its now suggested and connected to my domain. I doubt many people would actually search for "www.mydomain.com_sucks". Its all a bit odd.

If I knew the exact source that Google references to post the suggestions, it would be a great start. Google Trends shows that there are not enough searches with the term (the one including 'sucks') to have any data to display. My questions are as follows:

1-
If I manually do searches on what I want to show up (100 daily for a month) will it later be a "suggested" term offered by Google Suggest (assuming the collective world users do "mydomain.com_sucks less than that many times in a given period)? Again, the suggestion I want removed is my full domain url with a negative word which is not searched for often if ever. Yet, everyone now sees it when doing a search on my domain.

2-
Does Google Suggest "only" use the amount of searches from other users to determine the results or does Adwords play a role for their Google Suggest suggestions? If Adwords is considered, couldnt I just add those words to my keywords in Adwords to alter the suggestion results?

3-
How often are the trends (or whatever data source they use) updated for Google Suggest? In other words, if there were 100 searches in one recent week for one keyword combination but 500 collectively over a 5 year period, would the 500 old results out weigh the 100 new searches in determining what is suggested in Google Search? And how long would it take for all of the new trends to be accounted for in Google Suggest?

4-
Google Suggest states they use niche audiences for what is suggested. Australia may be different than what the U.S. suggests. Is this based on the actual IP address of the person doing the search or is this based on the various google sites (.com, .com.au, .co.uk, etc....)

5- I have no doubt that the suggested results is due to my competitor since not too many people put a domain in a search engine and then the word sucks. My competitor did have this on his site though at one point and could have possibly added it to his adwords at one point. So, if anyone knows a way to simply find out the exact methods used for the suggestion tool (that which is weighed in giving the results such as current listings, adwords, other's searches, words from top websites, etc.....) then that explanation would be appreciated.

Just so there's no ambiguity, cache and cookies are different, and browsing histories would be stored by Google and identified either via cookies or by account sign in. Since you're not signed in and cookies in different browsers are stored in different places, and you tried four of them, it's not likely that this is personalized data you're seeing.

But this is a reputation management kind of issue, analogous to but not exactly the same as having an unfriendly site in the top ten (or twenty) that ranks for [MyDomain.com sucks]. In serp-related reputation management, you need to drive the offending phrase down by creating pages with other phrases that will be commonly associated with "MyDomain.com".

With Google Suggest, you're not necessarily dealing with phrases that rank in the top 10 for MyDomain.com. You're dealing with commonly occurring phrases of which MyDomain.com is one word. Though right now, "MyDomain.com" and "MyDomain.com sucks" are the only 2 suggestions appearing in Suggest, the Suggest list will expand to as many as 10, so you're going to have create at least 9 other combinations associated with your domain name and tld that outweigh any offending phrases. This is not easy.

While we can't discuss specific domain names or search terms here, we can mention, say "microsoft.com". Type it in the Google search box and watch how the suggestions change as you type each letter... and note what happens when you get to the dot in .com, and then the "c". Finally, you'll end up with a set of products associated with "Microsoft.com" and subdirectories on the Microsoft site, which are also of course associated with Microsoft.com. You're going to have to find a way to do something similar for your domain.

Also, look at Google's suggestions for various competing domains, and note what pops up as you type their names. You'll see that there's a fairly common set of negatives that appear for domain names in any competitive market area.

Current law protects the various "review" sites that put this material up. They represent the spectrum from free speech to extortion rackets of sorts. Many of them survive by selling ads.

Note that you'll need to use Google search find out how many such pages for each phrase combination you're dealing with to get "mydomain.com sucks" and other negatives that might occur off the list.

Making AJAX Page States Crawlable - Google's Proposal

There's been some trouble with the young technical darling called AJAX. When the state of the page is coded into the URL by using a hash mark (#) it works for the human visitor - but search engines do not consider the # mark to indicate a different url, because that character is also used commonly as a page fragment identifier.

Google's proposal is to insert a new token after the hash mark. That would alert crawling technology that the following information creates a new page state, often by going to the server to update only part of the page content.

The new token Google proposes is an exclamation mark added immediately after the hash tag, so a stateful AJAX url might look like this:

http://www.example.com/page?query#!state

This approach would allow stateful AJAX urls to be shown in search results. More detail is available in the Google Webmaster Central Blog article

- MAINLY helps ONLY their SE.
- Could possibly change it's original intent AFTER the rest of web decides to use it how the web wishes, instead of how Goog wishes.

Google used up all their "benefit of the doubt" and "this is how we'd like to improve the web" points with their constant change in philosophy of rel=nofollow. At the end of the day, AJAX only really helps Google. NOT the 99.9% of the web who doesn't use or even know what AJAX is.
There was a Tweet I saw yesterday that apparently had this story wrong. It said Google was going to start serving everyone AJAX results pages. That's a whole different critter. This is about search engines INDEXING ajax content on OTHER sites. It's not about Google SERVING their own ajax pages - that's something Google is already testing.

The Tweet thing circulated a rumor that may have originally been about this proposal, but it was not accurately understood at all, and it came out garbled. By SEO BOOK NEWS

My blog's ranking - can it improve further?

My blog's ranking - can it improve further? Q&A
I have a blog who didn't rank very well.
I updated title and description tags and almost in real time I got new, good rankings for my pages.
The question is: Are these rankings already definitive or could them furtherly improve at a next index refresh?
I still have some pages not in top positions, so, have I just to wait for a better positioning, or should I check something else?
What is in your own experience?

On today's Google, there's no such thing as "definitive" rankings. Rankings shuffle around all day every day - some SERPs churn a lot, and others not so much or so often.

There is a definite limit to what you can do on the page and on your site to help your rankings. At that point the rest of your improvement is out of your hands, at least directly - it comes from other webmasters linking to your articles.

You can help the process by creating "linkworthy" articles and networking in various ways to let others know your blog is there and might interest their website visitors. Link building is an interesting skill - and WebmasterWorld has a Link Development Forum where you can discuss and learn about various approaches.

NoFollow Links Value and PR
I know that NoFollow links from high traffic blogs can bring additional traffic to my site, but from an SEO standpoint, do NoFollow links have any value at all? I have heard that Google probably stills gives rank to NoFollow links on giant sites like YouTube. Is that true? And what about smaller sites?

NoFollow links from high traffic blogs can bring additional traffic to my site, but from an SEO standpoint, do NoFollow links have any value at all? I have heard that Google probably stills gives rank to NoFollow links on giant sites like YouTube. Is that true? And what about smaller sites?

I can find no follow links in my backlinks. Which means that Google sees them. And remembers them. They just don't pass any value from the linking site to your site.

Nofollowed links are blocked links with no value for the SEO. They pass no pagerank and their anchor text is not taken into account by the search engines. Nevertheless they can bring you traffic.SEO Tools, SEO / SEM Blogs and Online Marketing News from SEO BOOK NEWS.

Google only engine not listing

I have optmised a website http://seobooknews.blogspot.com/ for the major search engines using best practise techniques. whilst the site is relativly new (9 months) and i am yet to establish any good backlinks, i cannot understand why this is not listed in google, when it has top 5 listings in all the other major search engines (number 1 in a lot of cases). when i do a site search within google (site:www.google.com) the majority of the otimised pages appear, such as seobooknews.blogspot.com this page is optimised to the phrase "buy rizues online", however when i do an exact search for content on this page on google, it doesn't appear. i am baffled. there is no duplicate content out there and i have already posted a google sitemap. any ideas wouyld be much appreciated.

Google and yahoo have an opposite algorithm so if you rank in google there is a big chance that you will not in yahoo vise versa. But some sites are licky to be rank in both yahoo and google and i hope i will be one of them.
Bad Credit Personal Loans I Bad Credit Loans .

Google and other search engine algorithms are different. Google needs backilnks from related site to list you in top.
So use a SERP to identify your SERP. Then start building back links with target "ANCHOR" text.

To get Google SERP one major aspect is Contents(Unique contents)
Then you should have quality backlinks. Google and Yahoo algo are different. We cant expect Google to give us a higher rank since we have higher rank in Yahoo.

Use SEO Keyword Strategies

Use SEO Keyword Strategies

In previous lessons I've taught you how to create your own high paying Adsense keyword lists. I've taught you how to find profitable markets, and finally, I've taught you how to spy on your Adwords competition to ensure that you're letting your competition test your keywords for you... allowing you to take their high converting keywords and using them for your own Adwords campaigns.

In today's lesson I want to cover just how important it is to structure your Google Adwords campaigns correctly the FIRST time. If you do things correctly from the beginning, it'll make your job just that much easier as time goes by.

Then, at the end of the lesson I'll show you how I use Keyword Elite to help me structure my Adwords campaigns with a few mouse clicks :-)

So, let's start off by showing what the typical Adwords advertiser will do. They'll create a campaign and ad that looks like this:

What's wrong with this? Well, there are several things that are MAJORLY wrong with this campaign. Let's list them below:

1.
They've placed ALL of their keywords into 1 single Ad group. You should place only "similar phrases" into their own separate Ad groups.
2.
The headline of their ad is horrible: a team financial
Really... I'm assuming A Team Financial is the name of their company? I really don't know... They SHOULD have included the main keyword in the title of their ad.
3.
Their ad description talks about what "their" passion is. People don't care about what the company's passion is. The ad should talk about the customer. What's in it for me?
4.
Their ad takes visitors directly to their homepage, for all of their keywords. Each keyword "group" should take visitors to an individual web page designed specifically around that keyword phrase.

So, that's the basics of splitting your keywords up into targeted groups, so you can write specific ads based on the EXACT keyword phrases that people are searching for. Make sense?

Good... That should all be pretty straightforward and easy to do. The only problem you'll run into is, let's say you created a keyword list of, say, 400 keywords.

Splitting those keywords into their own seperate ad groups could be a pain and would take forever to manually do... This is where Keyword Elite comes in handy.

Social Media Optimization

Social Media Optimization
Social media optimization (SMO) is a set of methods for generating publicity through social media, online communities and community websites. Methods of SMO include adding RSS feeds, social news buttons, blogging, and incorporating third-party community functionalities like images and videos. Social media optimization is related to search engine marketing, but differs in several ways, primarily the focus on driving traffic from sources other than search engines, though improved search ranking is also a benefit of successful SMO.

Social media optimization is in many ways connected as a technique to viral marketing where word of mouth is created not through friends or family but through the use of networking in social bookmarking, video and photo sharing websites. In a similar way the engagement with blogs achieves the same by sharing content through the use of RSS in the blogosphere and special blog search engines.

Social Media optimization is considered an integral part of an online reputation management (ORM) or Search Engine Reputation Management (SERM) strategy for organizations or individuals who care about their online presence.

SEO Fundamental Information

SEO Fundamental Information
What’s SEO?

SEOBOOK tell you SEO is the abbreviation of Search Engine Optimization. It’s the optimization process which is made for a website to get higher position in SERP (Search Engine Result Pages). The average SEO process is about 3 to 9 months.

SEO world with a comparison:
Lets say the number one search engine of the world, Google, is a digital ocean. Assume the competing sailing ships as websites in this vast ocean. The sail of a ship is the fundamental structure of a website because it is the essential thing which speeds the ship. The type and code structure of a website form the fundamental structure of that website. For instance a HTML sailing ship goes many times more faster than a FLASH sailing ship. Because HTML is technically more superior than FLASH in SEO competition.

Human factor in SEO competition:
Whether SEO is a competition in the digital world, human factor is the biggest decisive factor here. The human factor is the SEO specialist. Captain is the one who leads the sailing ship during the competition and completes the race successfully. The captain should know the ocean well where the competition takes place (Google). A clever experienced captain knows the dangerous and advantageous sides of this ocean. He knows when and from where the wind blows.

Perform these steps while making SEO:
• Have a SEO compatible website.
• Have an original and useful content.
• Use the right meta tags correctly and pay attention to the meta tags-content relevancy.
• All the steps that you make inside the website are called on-page optimization. Suppose that you are playing a strategical mind game with Google bot and try to use your brain and creativity in this game.
• After the on-page optimization, make the off-page optimization (backlink building) slowly and confidently. Make only one-way link building (links only to your website) from high quality and relevant websites.
• Optimization process is a long and demanding process. Keep up the work with patience and never give up. Suppose that you’re raising your little baby to become a mature human. Make minor updates or changes when necessary so as to have a better optimised website.

Dangerous penalty steps in SEO:
• Don’t use a copy (stolen, plagiarized) content.
• Don’t use hidden text or links on the background with the same color.
• Don’t use cloaked pages, deceptive redirects, doorway pages or duplicate site and pages.
• Don’t get paid links and try to not make reciprocal link building.
• Never do spam links in SEO.

Why is SEO difficult and why is the competition rate quite high?
The answer is quite simple. If you’re not on Google 1st page after the SEO, that SEO is not beneficial at all. The maximum traffic you will get from the monthly potential traffic of the keyword is 5% when you are on the 2nd page of Google. This 5% ratio is still exceptional. Normally it would be much lower ratio. In fact this is the awful truth of SEO. Google 1st page is the only ad space. Everything starts and ends here. As we know there are 10 websites on every page of organic search results and the first main goal is having a place in top 10 then the second main goal is rising on the first page as much as possible and finally stabilize your position.

Each website which achieves getting a position in top 10 throws a website which is used to be on the first page to the second page. Therefore the competition in SEO is quite high and ruthless. In the near future this competition in Google first page will be much more difficult because the SEO market is growing day by day. “Easy” and “guarantee” words do not take place in the dictionary of SEO world. Whether the SEO competition is big or average, every 1st page competition needs serious and professional process.

Google to adjust the effect of nofollow attribute

Has been doing search engine optimization of the students will be regarded as a reliable nofollow one of the factors. Reptiles because he can guarantee the correct identification and to prevent the emergence of a large number of spam and links to many export restrictions, but the General Assembly in the recent SMX above, Mattcutts said the effect of nofollow has been reduced.

The effect of reducing the causes of the possibility of a large number of abuse and too many SEO after nofollow a result, many pages have not been effective index, another important point is, Google believes that a large number of nofollow as a result of post, Pagerank transmission has not been effective. Of course, gossip and more: for example, that Google is crawling the depth and content of certain pages, Google in order to push Canonical strong attributes and so on.

In fact, it is difficult to imagine the role of Google to reduce the consequences of nofollow, an analysis of what is probably:

1, paid links and a large amount of spam may be effective, Nofollow previously, the other pages within the site obtained from the Pagerank value is not, strictly speaking is not to be taken into account, open up, though only Nofollow, but because Pagerank effective attenuation of transmission, although judging from the number of level or the level of quality to consider, or will be passing. This will cause more and more paid links spam. For example, the comments of so many bolg is not artificially increased the difficulty of Webmasters? Algorithm for Google itself, noise is not an increase? These are the core of the problem may be.

2, JavaScript will not be used to crawl, and now Google is crawling, but Nofollow a timely manner, it will not lead to some duplication of content. If open, then there is the phenomenon of the existence of duplicate content? Of course, up from the data model will, if a Web site ease of use, or sufficient to do the internal structure of the OK, it is the content of such distinction.

Although not very clear after adjusting the effect of Google is what kind of situation, but at least we can clearly know that the after-effects of liberalization. If this is the case then, it is possible to operate in the SEO of the page to reduce the scope, the requirements for the code page will be higher. But more to the robots.txt file, as well as the use of Canonical property.

Choosing SEO Companies on Price

SEO pricing is tricky because campaign costs from one firm to the next are all over the board. There is no standard pricing model, no minimum as it seems there is no limit to how low some companies will go while the maximum charged by some firms reaches the $10,000s. These price differentiations are influenced by reputation, size and expertise of the company, investment in products & human resources and various other factors.

Many businesses make the unfortunate mistake of purchasing SEO on price. However, rarely do they seem to factor in the cost, if the SEO decision they are making is the wrong one. Should you really do the work in-house rather than outsourcing? Can that company really offer what they claim they will accomplish at a rate of $20 per hour?

The Cost of the SEO itself--SEOBOOKNEWS

The most obvious cost is that of the SEO service itself. This cost is finite and quantifiable. So, if the service was not that expensive then all you’ve lost is a few hundred dollars right? Wrong.

Engaging your SEO Company Early Enough

Engaging your SEO Company Early Enough

This is something that few people do, but ideally, you should be speaking to your SEO company when you are planning your website, before you have even started to build it.

This is important because there are a number of technical website infrastructure issues of which you should be aware. Ideally, you should sit down with both your web designer and your SEO during the web design process. Unfortunately this is not something that happens frequently, but if it did, you could focus on things such as linking and site architecture, website copy balanced with SEO and a website structure set up for future growth.

The SEO company can also assist you in your domain name strategy as well as commence a link building strategy even before your website is fully launched. Consider how many precious months you lose by treating website design and SEO as two mutually exclusive steps.

Google Understanding health-related searches

Official Google Blog news.As we blogged last summer, there are lots of experiments running on Google web search all over the world. Today we've started a temporary experiment that some people might find interesting: we're researching how Google users search the Internet when they or someone they know is feeling sick.

Understanding how people search when they're feeling sick is an important problem to solve, as it can help improve projects like Google Flu Trends, which uses aggregated search data to detect influenza epidemics. Statistics gathered in this experiment may also help Google deliver more relevant search results in the future. For example, someone who searches for [arthritis pain] to understand why an aging parent is experiencing joint pain might want to learn about nearby health facilities and potential treatments, whereas somebody who searches for [arthritis pain] because she is doing a research project might want results about how common arthritis is and what its risk factors are. Rather than make educated guesses about how many users are searching because they're sick, we're running this experiment to collect real statistics. This is not a permanent change, but a short-term experiment. A small percentage of random health-related searches will trigger the poll question.

For example, at the bottom of the search results for [headache], some users will see a survey which asks whether they were searching because they or someone they know has a headache:

Similarly,
if you happen to search for [ibuprofen], a common anti-inflammatory
drug, you might see a survey which asks whether you were searching
because you or somebody you know is taking ibuprofen:

Data
collected in this survey will be aggregated across thousands of users.
Survey responses will be stored together with the original search
query, but will not be associated with email addresses or other
personally identifiable information. Survey data will not be used for
advertising — it will only be used to help Google improve
health-related search results and to help refine public health trends
based on aggregated search queries, much like Google Flu Trends. You

What is Click Fraud?

Most search advertising uses a PPC model, which means the advertiser is charged every time someone clicks on one of their ads. Click fraud is the term used to describe clicks that aren't legitimate for some reason as ROLEX WATCHES.

This could happen when someone places content ads on their own site and then clicks on them to get the affiliate revenue, or when a competitor purposely clicks on your ads to waste your ad budget. Most often, click fraud is the result of high tech bots or scripts that run in the background and click on ads without a user's knowledge.

This a concern for advertisers and the search engines, which are interested in delivering qualified traffic to advertisers' sites. As search the Replica Watches
. If click fraud is detected and identified, then the engines generally end up with the short end of the stick. Yahoo Search Marketing's Click Fraud FAQ explains click fraud and their click protection system.

Click Forensics just released some industry-wide PPC click fraud statistics for the first quarter of 2009. The overall industry average was 13.8 percent for Q1 2009, down from 17.1 percent for Q4 2008. The drop is mainly credited to search engines' efforts to detect fraudulent clicks on their favourite Replica Movado watches and so on..

A Better Web Development Process Based

Before I became a full time SEO book news I was developing websites for years, and while I enjoyed the finished result something always sat a bit uneasy with me about the web design/ development process; basically, its in the wrong order. I would expect most readers will have noted this or something similar themselves, so I guess this is ROLEX WATCHES article is more of an attempt to help the enlightened explain and build a case for a better web development process which ultimately leads to a more successful SEO campaign.

"Hey Brad, I've got a couple websites running that are in totally different markets and they are now both ranking in the top 10 on googleM thanks to SEO and keyword elite.

When I say ranking, I mean #1 on multiple keyword phrases for one of my sites, and I expect to see the same results on my other site once I get my link partner replies.

I can't even begin to calculate the number of hours I have saved not to mention brain damage since using your software. Keep up the great work, and that reminds me, I have to call one of your great support guys as he offered to help me over the phone after a few emails back and forth about a question I had. cheers"

Google map tell you link

In case you aren't up on Star Wars mythos, The Emperor was the main baddie from the original trilogy. A ruthless dictator that ruled through fear, death and manipulation. So, why am I quoting him today? We're going to be talking about Google of course.

Ok, so maybe Google hasn't killed anyone (that we know of), and I don't think I've ever been scared of anything Google related (besides Lively...oh the horror!). There's no denying that they're an empire though. Just ask those who are part of the rebellion. Where's our Han Solo?

The first member of the rebellion is a relatively unknown search engine, Cuil. I'm leaving out Yahoo and Microsoft because they're really empires in their own right. Anyway, Cuil is a search engine that if you've taken the time to look has brought some interesting ideas to the table.

To test drive Cuil, I used an easy to grasp keyword: Nintendo. The results dare I say were more useful, and insightful than Google. The biggest downside to Cuil is they bring back less immediate links than Google. However, they provide much more options besides 'Sponsored links' and shopping results. The coolest Cuil (couldn't resist) feature is the timeline. They provide interesting search results based on the timeline of Nintendo. Did you know that the company once tried their hand at being a Cab Service, and a Love Hotel in the 60's? Wouldn't have learned that using Google.

Like I did before, I'm going to make this a two part series. Mostly, because there's a new kid on the search block I wanted to mention. I know we all rely on Google for the bulk of our SEO results. In terms of making money, they're the path to it. However, once in awhile give one of the little guys a chance. You'll never know what you might turn up. -----seobooknews

What design website is search engine friendly

Today my friend ask me how to design the website as let the search engine friendly.
So seobooknews tell somebody include as follow:
1, URL of the static

Although the search engine of non-static pages can be crawled, but in order to avoid falling into the infinite loop, or as much as possible of it static, say hello to remove those parameters in the URL, such as symbols, but also remove the Session ID.

2, HTML code must be optimized to account for the lower tab format, content, the better the ratio, the smaller the better the entire document. If a website's main page in 15 seconds is not out of the show, visitors will quickly lose interest in the station.

3, the CSS, JavaScript, etc. on an external file. JavaScript and CSS files can be generated in the browser cache, the use of an external file can improve the speed of the page.

4, good site structure.

Generally have only one small site subdirectory, as follows: http://www.6vie.com/web/another/2009/0417/2491.html.

If you're thinking about hiring an SEO, the earlier the better. A great time to hire is when you're considering a site redesign, or planning to launch a new site. That way, you and your SEO can ensure that your site is designed to be search engine-friendly from the bottom up. However, a good SEO can also help improve an existing site.

Avoid SEOs that talk about the power of "free-for-all" links, link popularity schemes, or submitting your site to thousands of search engines. These are typically useless exercises that don't affect your ranking in the results of the major search engines -- at least, not in a way you would likely consider to be positive.
